Blending soft, blurred shapes with bristling lines, Ether Rift demonstrates the fractal nature of this art very clearly.  The initial shape in the upper left of the image is repeated throughout the piece in scaled down, flipped, stretched, and skewed forms.  These repeats combine to form the overall shape of the image. The 'rift' in the title isn't necessarily the black portion in the middle; the whole image made me think of some sort of strange gas leaking out into space.
