Magnetic Flares seems to have quite a bit of velocity for something standing still.  Loops of force shoot out from a spiraling center and curl around unseen obstacles.  Surpisingly enough, this is the very first piece of fractal artwork I ever did.  It has remained one of my favorites after four and a half years and hundreds of other images.
