This is one of my favorite works as far as composition goes.  A lot of the fractals that I create feel subtly wrong no matter how I position them on the canvas.  With Wings Ascending the image seems to flow smoothly up from the bottom of the canvas to the 'vanishing point' at the upper left.  I think that the right-hand curve that every repeat in the piece follows may have something to do with that.
